Son of a Durham miner, Jack left his native North East and job as a Tree Surgeon to pursue a career on the stage in London in 2000. He studied music theory and opera at Morley College London. In 2003, Jack got to the semi finals of Channel 4’s award winning Operatunity TV programme. He went on to complete the English National Opera’s Knack programme for singers. Jack has appeared with the Royal Opera, Covent Garden in a diverse range of operas including Arabella, Peter Grimes, La Forza del Destino and Götterdämmerung. With the Carl Rosa Opera Company, he performed in HMS Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance, Yeoman of the Guard, Iolanthe and Patience. Grange Park Opera is a Hampshire based company where Jack appeared in La Fanciulla del West, Falstaff, Rusalka and Dido & Aeneas. Musical Theatre roles include, Tony, West Side Story. Billy Crocker, Anything Goes. Caliph, Kismet. Frederick, Pirates of Penzance. In 2006, he was part of the 30th anniversary of the Thursford Christmas Spectacular in Norfolk. Jack is particularly interested in the positive and healing impact of music on people, he is a qualified Fitness Instructor, Massage Therapist and Reiki practitioner and as well as his Tree Surgeon job Jack has worked among other things as a Tour Guide and an Undertaker!! In 2008, he started working with pianist Richard Link and together they perform regularly for the charity Music in Hospitals whom Jack ran the London Marathon for in 2010.
‘This Is The Moment’ Is Jack’s long awaited debut solo album which takes us on a journey through Pop, Musical Theatre, Popular Classical, all the way to Grand Opera. Sung with great passion and emotion.
