Just Keep A - Movin, Country Classics, Country & Western Jamboree, The Southern Cannonball and Sings Jimmie Rodgers Songs
Here at AVID we are building a fine catalogue of classic country music albums ranging all the way back to legends such as Jimmy Rodgers and Hank Williams, moving up through the 1950s with Hank Thompson, Jean Shepard, Patsy Cline and Webb Pierce and into the late 1950s and early 1960s with Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins and even good ol Slim Whitman! When we started taking a look at the legends of country music, we knew the obvious names we would kick off with. The ones I guess we all know, the real legends, Hank, Jimmie, Patsy etc. But when we started delving a little deeper we found the country music well was over-flowing with great names. Such a name is our latest recruit to the country hall of fame, Mr. Hank Snow. 140 albums and 85 charted singles speak for themselves, here was a man, born in Nova Scotia, Canada in 1914 who became an American country music legend over a career lasting more than 50 years. Not only a fine singer but an excellent songwriter. Just a few of his hits featured on our selections that you will enjoy, his classic first number one of 1950- Im Movin On, plus others such as Rhumba Boogie, Golden Rocket and Cant Have You Blues. We also include a couple of examples of the classic song titles country music would lasso us with from time to time. Afraid you wont escape these last two classics, get a load of these steers Music Makin Mama From Memphis and Chattin With A Chick From Chattanooga. Well its round up time folks, so settle down with a slug of red-eye and give ol Hank a listen. And while youre relaxin take a look at these other fine artists already stabled and in our country coral.
