No, not the ingredients for a smooth cocktail but for one of the first vocal super-groups in jazz. Dave Lambert, Jon Hendricks and Annie Ross formed their unique trio in 1957 and kicked off with the classic vocalese album Sing A Song Of Basie which garnered such lavish praise from the Count himself that they went on to make a second album, Sing Along With Basie in 1959. The original group splintered in 1962 when British born Annie Ross left for a spectacular solo career as a jazz singer.
